"Judge William G. Lacy is "Qualified" for retention as a Circuit Court Judge. Judge Lacy was
admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1983 and was elected to the Circuit Court in 1996. Judge
Lacy is assigned to the Criminal Division and is well respected for his knowledge of the law
and outstanding temperament."

- Rated "Qualified" by the Chicago Council of Lawyers:

"Hon. William G. Lacy was first elected to the Circuit Court in 1996. He has been assigned
to the Criminal Division since 2001. Before that, he was a back-up judge in that division. From
1998 to 2000, he sat in the Evening Narcotics Section. His first assignment, from 1996 to 1998,
was in the First Municipal District, where he sat in Traffic Court, Branch 44, and Branch 66. He
also handled felony preliminary hearings and bond hearings for prisoners arrested overnight. He
is considered to have good legal ability with a temperament described as respectful and evenhanded.
He is praised by attorneys for decisiveness and is generally well regarded by those who
practice most frequently in his courtroom. The Council finds Judge Lacy Well Qualified for
retention."
